Heather Bearden

Heather Bearden, MA, LPC

Heather knew from an early age that she wanted to be a counselor.  She graduated from the University of Georgia in 1998 with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. After graduation, she worked in the corporate world as a manager in Human Resources and Training.

Heather received her Masters in Community Counseling from Argosy University in 2011.  She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC).

Heather works with teenagers and adults who experience Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.  She also works with clients who engage in self-harm.  Heather treats depression, grief, trauma, and anger.  She enjoys working with clients on interpersonal skills, communication and assertiveness.

Heather approaches therapy from a a holistic standpoint that integrates mind, body, and spirit.  She finds that this provides the most clarity and helps clients transform their lives in the most powerful way.  She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills, and she is trained in the Progressive Counting model for trauma recovery.
